Arroyo Owes Us

Yes, definitely… I agree with the administration’s assertion that “no one person can take credit for Arroyo presidency.” That is why it is baffling that Arroyo is turning her back on the thousands of Filipinos who should be credited for her presidency.
Arroyo owes the thousands who participated in People Power 2. While we didn’t exactly clamor for Arroyo to be president, People Power 2 paved the way for Estrada’s resignation and Arroyo’s swearing in as President.
Arroyo owes the members of civil society, the businessmen, and the Filipinos who supported her first administration. Arroyo owes the Filipino people.
Arroyo does not just owe her lapdogs, allies, and supporters. She owes the entire country. And no, she does not owe anything to her husband who has done nothing but put shame and mud on their name and reputation.
Arroyo does not owe one single person, or group. She owes everybody.
She owes the Filipino people who has, through the years, put up with all the crap, corruption, and deceit that she and her cohorts have done.

I guess we could say that Pres Arroyo owes the public because we pressured Pres Estrada to step down and it paved the way for her presidency. But that was during her first term.
Now for her second term, we all know who she owes for that…
