ABS-CBN vs PNP
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:15 pm (General, Media)
The Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has ordered ABS-CBN to submit raw footage of their coverage of the Makati stand-off at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.
According to the PNP, they are asking for the footage to aid their investigation of the incident. But earlier reports and statements from the PNP state that they are also investigating journalists for their participation in the failed uprising. While the cooperation of the media is necessary for a successful investigation (given that the government is incompetent when it comes to handling intelligence reports), I don’t think that harassing the media is necessary.
How about investigating Gonzales for ignoring the intelligence report that warned that a mutiny might happen?

I feel bad about them.
The PNP is also questioning the fast propagation of ABS CBN in the area. ;D
