Another TRO on the Aerial Spray Ban

While the Regional Trial Court already declared Davao City’s Aerial Spray Ban as valid and constitutional, the Court of Appeals has now issued another Temporary Restraining Order on the ban.
The Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGEA) has again succeeded in dodging the ban, and moving forward with new business practices that are more healthy and environment-friendly. They continue to question if aerial spraying are really harmful. Instead on focusing on more productive and effective means of pest control, they have reverted to ground spraying as if it is the only means of pest control.
To think that ground spraying is the only alternative to aerial spraying is naive on the part of PBGEA. While it might be the only method they know of, I am sure with the advancement of chemistry and technology and the advent of environmentalism, there are more sustainable pest control methods that they can adopt.
Meanwhile, the aerial spray ban is still in effect as PBGEA has still to secure the 1 million bond required so the TRO will take effect.
