Back in January, AKBAYAN Representative Risa Hontiveros raised the alarm over what she said as the appointment of another “Garcillano.” Hontiveros was referring to Moslement T. Macarambon Sr. and Maguindanao Provincial Prosecutor Salick Panda. Both Macarambon and Panda were being considered for appointment.
As Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo now finalized and announced the appointment of Macarambon, his son Moslemen “Jun” Macarambon Jr., a blogger, writes about how proud he is of his dad. Jun also defends his dad against the accusations of Hontiveros.
…he is the fiercest and the most feared Judge in Lanao Province because of his integrity and his case decision is not for sale. He also garnered some awards like one of the Most Outstanding Judges in Philippines.
I believe he deserves the post of Comelec Commissioner and he has the integrity to restore the people’s trust in the poll body.
I do hope that new Commissioner Macarambon will be able to prove Hontiveros and his other critics wrong, not just for Macarambon and his family, but for the sake of the electoral body and the entire electoral system.
Update: Jun has made Commissioner Macarambon’s CV via his blog.
