PhP 1.227 Trillion for 2008

Today, the House of Representatives begins the plenary debate on the 2008 budget. House Bill 2454, the General Appropriations Act of 2008, appropriates PhP 1.227 trillion for the country’s budget for 2008. About PhP 600 billion is appropriated for dept payments.
Hopefully, our congressmen will give utmost importance to these needs and areas of concern:
1) Public Education System and State Universities
2) Social welfare and health care
3) Environmental Protection and Conservation
4) Youth Development
5) Infrastructure for Mindanao
6) Science and Technology Research and Development
7) Agricultural Research
These seven, I believe are some of the areas of concern that really need much attention and budget.
