Finally! An impeachment case has been filed by Iloilo Vice Governor Rolex Suplico against controversial COMELEC Commissioner Benjamin Abalos Sr.. The case was endorsed by Representatives Teofisto Guingona III, Teodoro Casiño, and Ma. Isabelle Climaco. Curiously, Climaco is an administration ally.

After neither confirming nor denying being offered a bribe, CHEd Commissioner Romulo Neri admitted yesterday that COMELEC Commissioner Benjamin Abalos offered him P200 million pesos in exchange for Neri’s endorsement of the controversial NBN ZTE Corp deal.

In yet another commendable move from the Davao City Council, the request of Robinsons Land land to reclassify part of Bago Gallera in Davao City into a medium density residential area was rejected. The area is currently classified as a low density protected residential area. It is protected because it sits on top of an aquifer. A low density classification allows 20 residential lots within a hectare, while a medium density classification allows 60 residential lots within a hectare.

As if freedom via an absolute pardon is not enough the government is now contemplating not letting former President Joseph Estrada pay reparation for his crimes. This means the money he stole from the Filipino people will remain in his possession.
PREPOSTEROUS! That is an injustice to all the Filipino people! Let us remain vigilant of this very, very, very dubious deal between Estrada and the administration.

Just when I thought there was a limit to how thick-faced some people could be, former president Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada has used his sick mother as a reason to accept absolute pardon. As if that was not KUPAL enough, he expressed that he would only accept it if it does not require him to admit guilt. Oh, yes. Estrada is one of the biggest scum on this earth.
I DO NOT AND WILL NOT ACCEPT ESTRADA’S PARDON, OR AMNESTY!

The temporary restraining order released by the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 Judge Renato Fuentes on the aerial spray ban expires today. The TRO was released pending the decision on the constitutionality of the City Ordinance banning aerial spraying of pesticides in Davao City.

While I was happy with the guilty verdict on former President Joseph Estrada’s plunder case, I totally agree with the Inquirer editorial a few days ago, “Who’s next?” that
what is needed in dealing with the problem of graft and corruption are not new government agencies but resolute action against grafters. We already have many government agencies charged with bringing corrupt officials to justice. What is needed is the political will to go after these officials and not to let up until they are all behind bars.
