Angry
July 21st, 2007 at 11:38 pm (General, Davao City)
I am quietly sitting here at a local cafe, but I am terribly angry. I am angry that a few meters away from me sits an old geezer accused of rape. He is now sitting comfortably with his old geezer friends availing of free WiFi and apparently having the time of their lives chatting and laughing.
You see he was a prominent “civic leader” when he was accused by his colleague. His defense? His side alleges that it is not believable that he raped the victim because she is not exactly the attractive type, already middle aged, has a husband and children. Another thing that boggles the mind is that the judge who declared his innocence is apparently his friend.
It really angers me that he is now free to roam the streets, and even sit a few meters away from me, when his non-conviction is, in my opinion very much questionable. All this while his victim is trying, as much as possible, to live a normal life away from Davao City.
Where is the justice in that?

What happened to Alex Adonis? The people of Davao must do something to let an innocent man like him regain his freedom.
