Justice according to Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
June 14th, 2007 at 12:52 am (National Politics)
There has been so much reaction to the report that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has commuted the life imprisonment sentence of convicted child rapist Romeo Jalosjos. And rightly so. Every Filipino citizen who still cares for this country, and it already much maligned justice system should react violently to this issue.
Some people contend that the the commutation of Jalosjos’ sentence is a thank you from Arroyo for Jalosjos’ invaluable political support for her. On the other hand, Arroyo and her minions, defend that the commutation is due to Jalosjos’ good behavior. This baffles me a lot since there have been countless reports of Jalosjos being given the special treatment in prison. Moreover, Atty. Katrina Legarda, part of the prosecution in Jalosjos’ trial, has revealed that Jalosjos has not paid even a single cent of the court-imposed damages worth P800,000.00.
Sadly, it’s a situation that can be labelled as “only in the Philippines.” But do we really just sit back and let it happen just because it has happened before? I think not. Every vigilant Filipino should cry foul over this incident. An injustice to one Filipino, is an assault to the entire Filipino citizenry. Let us remain vigilant and concerned with this, until Arroyo realizes that what is did is wrong, and a perpetuation of a crime that is so vile and unacceptable.

Another lapse of judgment by Mrs. Arroyo. While she’s at it, why not pardon every single rapist in death row? Jalosjos is a sleazebag. Arroyo is just as bad. They should both rot in hell.

Spending government funds just to stay in power, pardoning criminals for favors appointing corrupt officials and military generals just to gain support.
The executive, legislative and military institutions are sitting ducks. Gloria will not hesitate to fire everyone who is in her way.
It is not the Arroyo government which is to blame for this. We the Filipino people should act now.. death to our evil president.
