The Country is not merely an Economy

In her meeting with the executives of media companies, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo asked for the help of the media so that she is not distracted by politics, in order for her to focus on the economy. According to Arroyo, her three remaining years as President is time for her to build a legacy before she steps down. Arroyo promised to work on the economy so the people may eventually feel its effect.

How to Run the Philippine Elections According to Benjamin Abalos

After proclaiming a failure of elections in Maguindanao, the COMELEC has backtracked and has validated the elections in Maguindanao. The reason? The winners of the local elections in the province has been declared. As if that’s a good enough reason. There’s no dumber reason. In the first place, the COMELEC itself was the one who declared those winners and not some higher authority. As if the declaration of the winners of the local winners nullifies and discredits the testimonies of the many witness to the alleged cheating. As if the countless proofs saying otherwise are now invalid.
