Dear Richard Gomez…

ASAN ANG IYONG PANININDIGAN?

After all your hullabaloo declaring Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as a fake president, you are now running for Senator with the administration’s coalition. After this desperate move, do you still expect people to respect and believe in you?

Indeed, I remember that episode. It only shows how politics here can be such a farce.

[...] In the blogosphere, a sampling of reactions to Richard Gomez’s running as an administration candidate: Pinoy Rickey is amused; Janette Toral is neutral, and tries to be balanced (but advises, in the end, against candidacy); Citizen on Mars is ambivalent;  Political Pinoy reacts with contempt; as do Far From Neutral Notions (who also appeals to Manny Pacquiao not to run), and Click Mo Mukha Mo who has decided to boycott Philippine TV media. Bong Austero is horrified. As is Alleba Politics. [...]

Another big e_jot joining our group of recycled politicians, trapos, balimbing, and deluded actors in our political arena. Wow, our country is really going to the dogs. No wonder a lot of Filipinos are wanting to go out of the Philippines because of the sorry state of the country being ruled by people who know nothing on how to uplift the lives of millions of Filipinos. Good heavens, goma, give the Filipinos a break.

    Richard:

You announced in S-Files that you’re running for the senate.

You’re a good actor and sportsman, Richard. You have a lot of followers on those fields. But the SENATE! WHY?

You have already made history for yourself. Is it really for public service?

    Good luck!

i just heard that gomez is out of the admin senate ticket….just good for him. balimbings like that don’t deserve to be trusted. i remember hearing him rambling about how the gloria arroyo cheated and he would’nt even address her as the president. good riddance really….our poor state of politics would be better off without the likes of him….hey goma, time to remove that hypocritical billboard at edsa!!!! makes me sick really.

we used to be neighbours and playmates in Quezon City; however, I’m no longer live in the Philippines which is a good thing as more and more actors are seeking for election and entering politics.

Richard, You have the looks and talent; however, I DO NOT believe that you have the qualification to run for senate. Please if you love your country DO NOT do that. If you really wanna help your country and the people stay out of politics adn therre are so many ways that you can help your country and the filipino people. .. I think that is one of the reasons why your country is still poor bc you guys are mockign the politics……

Everybody has the right to serve the country, we may have different views and oppinions, pero iisa lang ang hangarin natin, and that is to have a better future for our children, and our country. Let the people decide on who they want to serve them. Mr. Gomez, if you think you can serve the country then GO on, a sincere public servant need not to have a strong political affiliation/back-up kasi at the end of the day pag gusto ka ng tao mananalo ka. Best of Luck and GOD Bless us all.

Pls dont make politics a fallback for your wavering career. Government Position is not for everyone. It requires people that can make critical decisions that would be best for the people and for the government. Pure intention to serve is not a qualification in itself.
