Escaped?

Yesterday afternoon, Magdalo group spokesperson Lt Sgt Antonio Trillanes spoke against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Last night, four of Trillanes’ comrades in the Magdalo Group went missing.
According to the PNP, 1st Lt Nathaniel Rabonza, 1st Lt Lawrence San Juan, 1st Lt Sonny Sarmiento, and 1st Lt Patricio Bumindang were missing during the 9 pm headcount in Camp Aguinaldo. On the other hand, Atty. Rene Saguisag, Atty. Roel Pulido and Atty. Theodore Te are casting doubt on the jail break scenario. Allegedly, one of the four called Atty. Pulido and informed him that they will be transferred to solitary confinement (bartolina). Thus, the lawyers fear that the four have not escaped. Other pundits speculate that the four might have been “rescued” by their sympathizers.
Personally, I do not fully believe that the four have escaped. Stories from the lawyers are clear and concise, while the AFP and PNP seem to be hiding something. I do have enough knowledge to speculate as to what really happened to the four. But in my opinion, Lt Gen Hermogenes Esperon should face an inquiry about his alleged order that the four be moved. Moreover, the prison guards of the four have a lot of questions to answer. The four “escapees” are high profile prisoners with serious cases against them. Why was it so easy for them to “escape” if that is what really happened?
Looks like this issue is going to be another thorn on President Arroyo’s side. And it better be resolved soon, if she or her military men do not want to be accused of human rights violation or stupidity.
